@properties Christie’s International Real Estate Set to Build on Banner 2022
Following a year that included national and global expansion, new tech launches and industry honors, @properties Christie’s International Real Estate is looking forward to continued growth and innovation in 2023 and beyond. As we resolve to continue delivering the best service in the real estate industry, we look back on some of our highlights from the past year.
Global Growth, Local Benefits
@properties kicked off 2022 as the new owner of Christie’s International Real Estate, the world’s premier luxury real estate brand and network. As a result, @properties’ clients in Chicagoland, Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin gained direct access to the best luxury real estate firms and properties in leading markets across the U.S. and around the globe – from Japan to Rome, and Miami to San Francisco. In September, the addition of John R. Wood Christie’s International Real Estate, Southwest Florida’s #1 brokerage, further strengthened the network with a presence in one of the most popular destinations among second-home buyers from Chicagoland and the entire Midwest. Many clients have already taken advantage of this pipeline, and some @properties agents have even hung a Florida license at John R. Wood. Other popular destinations with Christie’s International Real Estate offices include Aspen, L.A. New York, Hilton Head, Scottsdale, and a number of Caribbean islands.
Tech Tools that Differentiate
With pl@tform™, the industry’s first and best integrated real estate technology solution, @properties Christie’s International Real Estate continues to deliver leading advancements in client-facing innovation. In early 2022, the brokerage launched Closing Milestones, a homebuyer portal that gives clients an easy way to manage and monitor all the steps required to move from contract to closing, including attorney approval, home inspection, and mortgage financing. Buyers can also customize their journey through escrow, using Closing Milestones to schedule tasks like transferring utilities, hiring movers, and setting appointments with contractors. Finally, Closing Milestones gives buyers access to important transaction documents, such as the contract, inspection report, and disclosures, all in one secure, online deal portfolio. A version of Closing Milestones for home sellers will be released in 2023.
Racking Up Recognition
In July, @properties emerged from a crowd of nearly 600 nominees to win the Inman Innovator Award for “Brokerage of the Year.” The Inman Innovator Awards honor companies, individuals and new technologies that increase productivity, efficiency, and transparency for consumers and real estate professionals alike.
@properties Christie’s International Real Estate was also named to the 2022 Inc. 5000 List – the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies – for a remarkable 13th time. And in November, @properties Christie’s International Real Estate was named a Chicago Tribune Top Workplaces for the 10th consecutive year.
Auction House Accolades
2022 was also a record-setting year for Christie’s International Real Estate’s strategic partner, Christie’s. With $8.4 billion in sales, the venerable auction house had the highest annual total in art market history. This figure was boosted by the largest art auction ever – Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection. The unparalleled art collection of the late philanthropist and co-founder of Microsoft shattered the record for the most valuable auction of all time, achieving a total of $1.62 billion in sales with all proceeds dedicated to philanthropy.
In May, Christie’s sold Shot Sage Blue Marilyn, Andy Warhol’s revered 1964 silk-screen of Marilyn Monroe, for more than $195 million, the highest price ever achieved at auction for a 20th-century work of art. @properties Christie’s International Real Estate works closely with Christie’s to offer clients access to auctions, private sales, and appraisal services for art and luxury goods.
