Next Stop for @ Loves Local: Baker Boys in Highland Park
North Shore, here we come! @ Loves Local will be heading out to Baker Boys in Highland Park on Wednesday, October 28th, 2020. We already know you’re going to love their freshly made treats!
From cheesecakes to pastries, everything is made from scratch. One of the treats we’re most excited for is their cupcakes. If you stop in daily, you’ll find a rotating menu of classic and specialty cupcake flavors.

We’re excited to bring @ Loves Local to Baker Boys and learn more about this Highland Park favorite from owner Sasha Zoric!
@properties: What inspired you to open Baker Boys?
Sasha Zoric: Baker Boys has been around for 10 years and was started by two gentlemen, hence the name Baker Boys. I purchased the business in January of 2019 and decided to stick with the name because it is well established and has a great following.
@properties: We’re excited to have Baker Boys be our first stop in the North Shore! What’s your favorite thing about working in a tight-knit community like Highland Park?
SZ: It’s so nice to feel that we are an important part of the community. I feel as if I have an extended family in Highland Park. I love getting to know everyone and enjoy making everyone happy with our sweet treats.

@properties: There are so many creative cupcake flavors on your menu. How do you come up with your flavors?
SZ: I inherited a lot of the flavors of cupcakes when I purchased the business. However, we have come up with many new ones. It really is trial and error. I ask for feedback when we have created something new so I know whether to continue with it.
@properties: Which cupcake is your all-time favorite?
SZ: That’s a really hard one. I’ll give you my top 3: chocolate chip cookie dough, banana chocolate chip and coconut key lime.
