Dine With A View At One Of These Restaurants
In July and August, we’re headed to Southwest Michigan and Northwest Indiana for our second annual @properties Home for the Summer tour. While we’re excited to give you a sneak peek of some of the beautiful properties we have to offer in these resort home communities, we’re also excited to spend some time in the sun.

Sometimes, food tastes better by the water. Luckily for residents and visitors in Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan, there are plenty of opportunities to dine al fresco or with a Lake Michigan view.
Whether it’s breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, here are four spots to enjoy your next meal with a view.
LakeHouse Restaurant
What do you get when you combine award-winning Lake Michigan views with elevated American cuisine? The aptly named LakeHouse restaurant – built in 1892 as a summer home – delivers on both accounts.
Even with a menu featuring surf and turf, burgers, and sandwiches along with gluten-free and vegan options, LakeHouse is known for its beachfront ambiance and its scenic sunset views.
Tabor Hill Winery & Restaurant
Tabor Hill’s lush green vineyard is one of Harbor Country’s best-kept secrets – and most picturesque spots for cocktail hour.
The restaurant at Tabor Hill is a prime spot for an elegant dinner with a seasonal menu, and a local beer, wine and cocktail list for perfect pairings.
Start with a cheese & charcuterie plate to pair with your Barrel Select Chardonnay and move on to the main course – favorites include the fried chicken thigh and cedar wrapped salmon. Indulge in pure, sweet Michigan Cherry wine after your meal or tour the vineyard with a glass of vino.
Bridges Waterside Grill
If you’re looking for a burger and a brew overlooking Trail Creek, you’re looking for Bridges Waterside Grille. Sandwiches, soups, seafood, vegetarian and gluten-free fare are all on the menu here and locals love the Cajun fried perch and the grilled shrimp skewers.
Seating at Bridges is mainly outdoors and diners have a prime view of the local boat traffic out to the lake. Settle into the wooden picnic tables for a no-frills meal and watch the sunset to cap off a perfect day on the nearby dunes.
Bentwood Tavern at the Marina Grand
Waterfront dining on the New Buffalo Harbor doesn’t get any better than at Bentwood Tavern. Situated right on the harbor, the views rival the cuisine – watch the boats pull in and out against a Michigan sunset.
Offering handcrafted cuisine featuring local, seasonal ingredients, there is always something new to try – and something new to pair it with. Bentwood Tavern is known for its rotating craft beer taps and extensive wine list, including several local Michigan options.
