Where to go out to dinner in Elmhurst

Since moving to the suburbs from downtown Chicago, my husband and I have taken our love for exploring restaurants from the city to Elmhurst.

New spots are popping up every month and some of the best places are hidden out of view.

Whether you live in Elmhurst or plan to visit (it’s worth the trip from the city!), here are the six best restaurant for your next date night or family dinner out.

Pazzi Di Pizza

More than just pizza, Pazzi Di Pizza pulls inspiration from all over Italy and is our #1 go to in Elmhurst.

Each dish is better than the next but their bolognese takes the cake. Take advantage of their weekly specials ($5 glass of wine anyone?) and if the weather’s nice, sit out on the patio.

For date night, we suggest arriving early for a martini at the bar. They can even cater your event or host a private party. Check out their menu here.

Victory Meat & Seafood

Victory Meat & Seafood is a new, contemporary restaurant serving, you guessed it, meat and seafood.

Only a few months young, it’s quickly become the ‘scene and be seen’ location in town.

Order their over half dozen rotating oyster options and you can’t go wrong with any of their main dishes.

Since this hot spot fills up fast, secure a reservation on weekends or holidays.

New on the scene too, if you’re looking for a slightly upscale experience with a twist, check out Livia Italian Eatery.

From calamari, to carpaccio, to filet, there’s something for everyone. The cauliflower crust flatbreads are a personal favorite and be sure to take advantage of their Happy Hour every Monday – Friday (3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) in the bar lounge area.

The hand crafted cocktails are top notch, and so is the newly renovated space. For more mouth watering pictures, click here.

Guac N Tacos

Did someone say Taco Tuesday?!

For a quick, casual dinner, Guac N Tacos specializes in authentic tacos, complete with homemade tortillas.

Elmhurst resident, Yerika, wanted to bring her high quality Mexican recipes to Elmhurst and I’m so glad she did.  She’s had so much success in such a short amount of time, she even branched out to nearby Downer’s Grove.

The bright yellow decor greets you at the door and we always get the chicken tingas.

In the words of Yerika, “forget the flowers, bring me tacos.” Check them out here.

Roberto’s Ristorante

Roberto’s Ristorante is an elegant, old school Italian joint with Tuscan flare where you’ll find all of your Italian favorites served in a cozy atmosphere.

We sometimes go solely for their lasagna…it’s that good.

Be sure to check out their weekly specials and if you’re feeling social, make yourself comfortable at the large bar in front. It’s the best seat in the house.

As the weather warms up, request a table on their charming outside porch. Check out all their specials here.

Flavah

When you’re in the mood for a quick, healthy and delicious meal, we’ve got you covered.  With everything made from scratch, the real, fresh and seasonal offerings at Flavah is where it’s at.

We suggest ordering ‘to-go’ but you can take advantage of the few cozy tables inside. Flavah focuses on whole-food, plant based meals, with fish and meats. And I can’t go a week without getting a bowl of one of their homemade soups (some of the best I’ve ever had).

Pick up a carton of fresh farm eggs — they’re as fresh as it gets! — along with complete frozen meals to help with your weekly meal prep.

Unbeknownst to most, they also offer private cooking classes. Their menu is updated daily on their Facebook page and they have a full customizable catering options too.
