April in Chicago: 10 Fun Events

We’ve finally made it through winter and spring is upon us! With the weather getting warmer, more and more events are beginning to take place throughout the city. So to help you plan ahead, we’ve rounded up a list of fun events and festivals going on this month. Keep reading to see what’s happening around town!

River North Beer Fest – 4/8 

Beer lovers rejoice! Head to Old Crow Smokehouse in River North to take part in the River North Beer Fest. You’ll have the chance to sample over 25 different beers and socialize with your fellow beer lovers. For more info and ticket information, head here.

Chicago Art & Design Show – 4/8 – 4/9 

If you appreciate the arts you won’t want to miss the Chicago Art & Design show at Navy Pier. This year’s show will offer extraordinary artwork of all mediums, including ceramics, fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, paintings, drawings, photography, and wood. National Robotics Week – 4/8 – 4/9, 4/14 – 4/15

In accordance with National Robotics Week, the Chicago Museum of Science & Industry will be offering four days of robotics events suited for all ages. You’ll have the chance to check out robots designed by Chicago-area students, hear from top university robotics scholars, watch a live robotics competition and interact with some state-of-the-art robots. Chicago Quarter Marathon – 4/15 

Looking to get active this April? The Chicago Quarter Marathon is a great opportunity to do just that. This 6.55-mile sprint along the city’s scenic lakefront is one of the first warm-weather runs of the year. There will be course route entertainment and a post-race party to celebrate the event. Chicago Country Day Party – 4/15

Do you love all things country? You won’t want to miss the Chicago Country Day Party. Tickets for the event include 2 hours of a brunch buffet and 3 hours of beer, bloodies, and mimosas. There will also be live music by Rendition. For more info on the event, head here.

Bunny Rock Chicago – 5K Run/Walk & Egg Hunt – 4/15 

Interested in getting active, but doing it in a festive manner? The Bunny Rock Chicago 5K is for you. Aside from the race, there will be various activities available for families and kids of all ages. Chicago Latino Film Festival – 4/20 – 5/4

See 100+ films from Latin America, Brazil, Spain, and Portugal during this year’s Chicago Latino Film Festival. Screenings will be taking place at AMC River East 21 and select theaters throughout Chicagoland. Head here for more information on the festival.

Lake FX CreativeCon – 4/21 – 4/22

Consider yourself a creative? You won’t want to miss this year’s Lake FX CreativeCon presented by Google. CreativeCon is the Midwest’s largest gathering of artists and creative professionals. You’ll have the chance to attend over 50 interactive workshops and discussions with national arts leaders. Chicago Artisan Chocolate Show – 4/22 – 4/23

Chocolate. Lots and lots of it. That’s what you’ll find at this year’s Chicago Artisan Chocolate Show. This event features the finest in artisan chocolate, artisanal foods, and wine, with demonstrations and more. Cochon555 Chicago – 4/23 

Looking for an epic culinary experience? Look no further than Cochon555. This experience is centered on 1500 pounds of heritage breed pork.
