@properties Named To Chicago Tribune Top Workplaces List For Fourth Consecutive Year

twp_chicago_2016_aw@properties, the largest independent real estate brokerage firm in Illinois, has been awarded the 2016 Top Workplaces honor by the Chicago Tribune for the fourth year in a row. The company ranked No. 3 among large companies, which are defined as companies with over 1,000 employees.

The Top Workplaces list is based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including alignment, execution, and connection.

Established in 2000 by Michael Golden and Thaddeus Wong, @properties has grown from a four-person boutique brokerage firm to the No. 1 residential real estate brokerage in the city of Chicago by market share and one of the 11 largest residential brokerage firms in the U.S. by sales volume.

According to Wong, the company has spent the last several years identifying new ways to drive innovation within @properties and the real estate industry.

“Innovation and entrepreneurialism are integral to the @properties culture, and that appeals to our employees, brokers and clients,” said Wong. “It has played a big role in our continued growth.”

Golden added that annual events and initiatives are also an important part of the company’s corporate culture.  Every year @properties holds a large holiday party, children’s play date, summer outing, the @expo and the @awards program. This year, the company also introduced @balance, a work-life program that offers brokers and staff members a monthly schedule of free classes and happenings that promote leisure and physical, mental and financial health.

@properties is also dedicated to philanthropy and supports local organizations each year through the company’s non-profit foundation, @gives back. This year’s beneficiary is Keith Relief, an organization founded by Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith to help those suffering from medical crises.

“From our events and partnerships to our training and educational programs, we’re always focused on making @properties a fun and exciting place to work and providing the best resources for professional growth,” said Golden. “We’re thrilled to receive this award for the fourth year in a row and grateful for our team that consistently makes it happen.”

According to Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics, “To be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together.”
